crap, I knew it....my nails have raised portions going up and down the nail...looked it up on webmd and they said here comes the arthritis...probably not a surprise...I am getting old :)

This is an interesting find...
I, too, have ridges in my nails, just like every other older person in my family. I was told that it was a sign of aging, and that the nails simply need to be buffed to get rid of the ridges. It does work, but it had not occurred to me that there might be an underlying problem.
